Tips for modernizing 1980s Thermador cook top?

I have a 1980s Stainless Steel Thermador electric cook top, modelCV2136 with the griddle. I am remodelling the entire kitchen but it kills me to trash this top quality appliance. Are there any late model knobs that would fit? Any later style elements that might plug in? I think thats all it would take to make them look newer.
I also have an 84 Thermador double oven. It is an electric convection on bottom and microwave on top. Again, great quality,but would look odd in my brand new kitchen. Any ideas? Does anyone actually restore/refurb or hold on to these for thier remodelled kitchens?
