Roofing Company Recommendation

I have an Eichler home with a low-slope (almost flat) roof. I wanted to replace the existing tar and gravel roof which provided scant insulation against summer heat and winter cold. I contacted Los Gatos Roofing (because of their high Yelp ratings) and they don't my kind of roof--they recommended Statewide Roofing.

I got five estimates and, right away, Statewide stood out from the rest of the field. Jon Robertson, project manager with Statewide) prepared a comprehensive estimate with photos of complicated areas (I have a few due to odd skylights and a second-story addition) and explanations of how they would be handled. He also included abundant back-up info on the materials that would be used. The other four companies provided very brief information and a price, which did not give me confidence that they fully understood the job. I knew that Statewide knew what they were talking about.

I selected Statewide's proposal for a "cool-roof" TPO (thermo-plastic olefin) with 2.5" rigid foam insulation. On his visit Jon gave me a brief tutorial on these materials and I'm convinced they make a great roof. Statewide did the job in 4 days, as promised, and the crew was excellent. They were prompt, efficient, pleasant, and very concerned that we were happy with the ongoing work. They cleaned up the front and back yard every day when they were done. Jon turned out to be one of the best project managers I've worked with and really understands and delivers customer service.

Without reservation I recommend Statewide (ask for Jon Robertson). Buying a new roof is not fun, but they made it as pleasant as possible and gave me confidence that we made the right selection for the money.
