just a short note to thank the eichler network and its many friends for the tribute to james san jule. my father had a passion for the housing industry, and was very proud of what eichler homes represented in the post ww2 building boom. my best years were growing up in an eichler. fairmeadow tract, at 3730 redwood circle. who can forget that warmth on your feet when you woke up in the morning. and the legacy continues, more than 50 years later...

How nice of you to post, Steve. I had the pleasure of hearing your father speak the Celebrating Eichlers event a couple of years back. He was charming and a wealth of information. My parents first home was a Sunnyvale Eichler and I still have fond memories of that home and wonderful neighborhood.

cathye, thank you for your response. yes, jim san jule had a wealth of knowledge and loved to share it. glad you also have fond memories of growing up in an eichler home. my father was very proud of the eichler design and its affordability...that was in 1951. how palo alto changed in the next 50 years.
