Hello,
I have a 1965 Eichler in Sunnyvale that is in need of some closet door track help, preferrably someone who can take a credit card over the phone since I live 3000 miles away, and I'm currently renting it out. I'm told that the doors themselves are fine, but the relationship between the doors and the tracks have taken a horrible turn. Reading some of the posts in this forum about closet doors (and if I understood correctly), I believe that there were two types of guides that were used in Eichler homes, wood and metal. From my memory growing up in this house, the tracks are metal, and the spring-loaded rollers were difficult to get back on track. I do not know the dimensions, but can have the tenants take some measurements if it helps.
I guess I should also add that I hope to someday return to CA and live in this house, so when my current contractor recommended ripping them out and replacing with mirrored closet doors, I quickly lost interest.
One of the posts written by a member named "renman" mentioned a guy in the Palo Alto area who he trained to restore Eichler closet doors, but could not find any other reference to this person. (That post was about ten years old)
Thanks in advance for any help, referrals or suggestions you may be able to provide!
Cheers
